Day 37 - March 30 2010

Hello World,

Today I was very stressed at work..so I came home and decided to release some stress by baking...this usually works but this time it didn't.

Somewhere between checking my blackberry (for work emails) and reading through Mario Batalli's recipe for Torta Della Nonna, I came up with the brilliant idea to start coming up with my own measurements.

The pie just came out of the oven and I have no clue what it tastes like...but here is what it looks like:

The dough came out too dry (since my brain said THREE CUPS!!! DO IT!! NO ONE IS LOOKING!! instead of the suggested 2 cups).

Oh dear. Maybe I can give this another shot....and hopefully its edible!

Goodnight Moon.

Day 36 - Marcy 29 2010

Another catch-up blog, world:

Who remembers the song: Walkin on, walkin on broken glass.....

This past Saturday (March 27) Chris and I took his grandmother out to brunch....we were greeted not only with her at our table already but also these:

Goodnight Moon

Day 35 - March 28 2010

Hello World!

Sunday was Family day. But before heading to my parents' place, I baked some awesome blueberry muffins:

For lunch, with my fam, we had BBQ, grilled zuchinni, and chicken curry with pita bread and hummus...YUMM! Unfortunately I was only able to snap a good photo of the BBQ and grilled zuchinni:

and last but not least....my mini:

Goodnight Moon!

Day 34 - March 27 2010

Hello World...

Today I went to my cousin's sweet 16th bday party. At the party, Chris gave the virtual turn tables a few spins =)

To the party, I wore my fave heels to jazz up a relatively basic outfit (jeans, t-shirt, gray leather jacket)

Here they are:

They are (faux) zebra print with maroon trimmings, round toe wedged (about 3.5 inches) heels from steve madden. I got them about 3 years ago. Because they are a statement peice- I have been able throw on a splash of spontaneity and color to many dull outfits!

Strangely...I found myself craving for slurpee at the end of the night!....sooooo voila!

Alas, goodnight Moon.

Day 33 - March 26 2010

Hello World,

Minimal words...just pictures =)

They were on a date...

Mr. Pham and his ride.

it was an optical shop...
busy with everything else =)

crime scene

crime scene location
who wears/buys denim with pink whales on'em?

apparently, she does.

I woke up at 530 in the morning to help the hubby pack up the car for a DJ gig....my cheer skills (lifting with legs rather than arms) came in very handy!

Goodnight Moon- it was nice to see you out tonight.

Day 32 - March 25 2010

Hello World,

This morning I did something out of the regular...I went to Mc Donald's and got a coffee (normally I mooch off of what we have at the office or buy one from starbucks).

Prices were slightly lower than Starbucks....

I noticed the coffee wasn't that strong...

It might be because I asked for 2 packets of sugar and creamer...they actually put it in for you already! Although this may seem convenient for some...I actually prefer doing it myself. Some days I feel like more or less sugar/creamer.

Lastly...as I was unwinding...I snapped a shot of two people/animals very close to my heart:

Goodnight moon...the weekend is almost here!!!

Day 31 - March 24 2010

Hello World,

Wednesday wasn't that eventful..on my way to work I saw a man with a very old/worn out yellow/tan leather suitcase. It had so much age and history- I wonder what kinds of documents it has carried in its life.

While on BART, I saw a woman reading a "book order" pamphlet..they are printed on thin paper and are usually 4 pages back to back. I used to get them back in 2nd-4th grade and remembered my classmates who got to order a little something from every bookorder. I was also so envious of that and especially when all the goodies came in! Nonetheless, I spotted a woman browsing through one on BART..probably for her daughter/neice.

After work, on my way back to BART, I came across a rally (about immigration primarily). The rally was in full force...

And so were the cops

and of course..media.

After my work out, the hubby and I went to dinner with my family since my brother was leaving for Irvine the next day. We ate at Yankee Pier in Lafayette. It had the coolest door knob...a lobster!!!

and the coolest bread plates! Simple, fun, understated yet contemporary

We all shared a plate of oysters...

I had a VERY delicious ceasear salad.

Thats it...good night moon =)

Day 30 - March 23 2010

Hello World,

Tonight I wanted to work out but instead chose to share some downtime with the hubby. We made Chicken Parmesan for dinner (AWESOME AND SUPER QUICK!) with veggies =)

While we were waiting for the chicken to be done, Chris rescued the limes (literally a dozen or more)sitting in the fridge. He squeezed the juices out, mixed it with some pomegranate and sugar et voila! Lime-o-nade. lol!

Here are photos of the rescued limes:

Et le fin: Chicken Parmesan made with lots of love!

Goodnight moon.

Day 29 - March 22 2010

Hello World,

Today I barted back to 16th & mission from montgomery to ride home with the hubby...in doing so..I got a chance to snap some pics of 16th & mission bart station

my hubby exhausted and waiting for the train

and an empty bart train - surprising for a weekday!

Goodnight moon =)

Day 28 – March 21 2010

Today- Sunday is also beautiful!

The hubby and I took our time in morning, cleaned up around the house, went to mass, and walked around in our city’s little downtown area.

PLUS: I get to see my cousin again tonight..she’s sleeping over since we’re having dinner together….which means…lots of girltalk/QT/memories.

*sigh*.
Its not night time yet…but I will say this: Hello Moon =)

Here are some photos i took out of boredom today =)

Day 27 – March 20 2010

*yes I am catching up on blogs*

Saturday was busy/bittersweet/beautiful.

Busy because my sister, cousin, and I helped my cousin move out of my parents’ house to her new place in SF.

The car:

The view from the new apartment:

The view from street level:

The new tenant <3

Bittersweet because this meant my cousin living not-so-close to my fam and I. No more last minute trips to jack in the box, etc etc.

Beautiful because the weather was gorgeous in SF which gave my cousin a more than perfect first day in her new *city* life.

But before we started the actual moving...we grabbed some yogurt...yanna got her beauty on....and as we were waiting.....i ran into one of the most stylish movers i've ever seen....

with everything that matters in life: iPhone, vogue magazine, and fat free yogurt.
